Diane C. DeJarnatt, 62 of Sterling died Friday June 21, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
She was born on September 19, 1956 in Morrison, the daughter of Oscar and Mary Jean (Heeren) Pletsch and was a 1975 graduate of Tampico High School. She married Barry DeJarnatt on September 19, 1981 in Sterling. She had attended Sauk Valley Community College. Diane had worked as a teacher's aide for Bi-County Special Education and then had worked for 21 years at the Rock Falls Middle School. She also had worked at County Market in Sterling in the deli for 13 years. Diane had enjoyed baking; collecting Longaberger baskets; and decorating during the Christmas season.
Survivors include her husband, Barry; her son Seth DeJarnatt (Elly Guerrero) of Sterling; her sisters: Connie DeMaranville of Geneseo and Debbie (Robert) Define of Lake St. Louis, MO; her brothers: James Pletsch of Sterling, Gary Pletsch of Pittsburgh, PA, David (Lola) Pletsch of Sterling and Dan (Vicky) Pletsch of Normal, IL; four grandchildren: Kaidyn, Ariyah, Hunter and Liyam.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother in law Elizabeth (Larry) VanLanduit; her brother in law Kendall DeMaranville; and her two grandchildren: Madisyn and Bradley.
The family has requested all to dress in casual attire for the visitation that will be held on Saturday June 29, 2019 from 9:30 -11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
