Fred Johnson
Fred L. Johnson, 90, a resident of Prophets Riverview Center, Prophetstown, died Monday, July 26, 1993 at the center.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Yorktown, with the Rev. Norma J. Vandemeer, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.Friends may call o Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown A memorial has been established.
Fred was born on August 27, 1902. **** **** **** ^^cated in the Jackson Street rural school. On February 14, 1931 he married Mildred Crosell in Morrison, IL. She died in January of 1967. Mr. Johnson farmed his entire life in Yorktown area retiring in 1968. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Brotherhood. In his erlier years, he was an avid horseman and later he enjoyed playing darts.
He is survived by four sons, Wendell Johnson, Prophetwon; David Johnson, Lombard, IL; Alan Johnson, Wheaton, IL; and Melvin JOhnson, Yorktown; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren adn one brother, Leroy Johnon, Prophetstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother, Arthur E. Johnson
