Obituary

LEROY W. JOHNSON

Leroy W. Johnson, age 91, died Thursday, Jluy 5, 2001, at the extended care Facility of CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7k 2001 at the Advent Christian Church with Rev. James Jensen officiatingg. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetown. A memorial has been established. The Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown were in charge of the arrangements. 

He was born January 30, 1910 in rural Prophetstown, the son of William and Minnie (Ackeberg) Johnson. He was educated in rural Prophetstown schools and married Kathryn Raser on August 10, 1947. She died Jlu;y 5, 1982. He later married Marion Randall on July ** ****. 

****** custodian at Prophetstown HIgh School for 17 years, retiring in 1974. He was a founding member of the Prophetstown Church of Christ and entertained many whn=en he created and performed as one-man band.

He was survived by his wife Marion, two sons, Bruce of Prophetstown and Joel of Springfield; a step-daughter Linda (Mrs. Eric) Jacobs of Prophetstown and Burbank, CA; a step great-grandchildren and several grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

He is survived by his wife Marion; two sons, Bruce of Prophetstown and Joel of Springfield; a step-daughter Linda (Mrs. Eric) Jacobs of Prophetstown and and Burbank, CA; a step-son Tom (Cindy) Randall of Ventura, DA; 6 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grand children and several nieces and nepehws.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Luanna Kay, and three brothers, Arthur, Fred, and George.
