Mr. John Foy, who died July 21st, 1876, and whose demise we briefly noticed last week, was born in Cattaraugus County, New York, in 1820 and hence, at the time of his death, was fifty-six years of age. At the age of twenty-two he emigrated to Hancock county, this state and about twenty-four years ago he came to Whiteside, and settled near Leon, in the vicinity of which he had resided ever since. Mr. Foy was well and widely known, and his funeral, which occurred on Sunday, July 23, was very largely attended by friends and neighbors. He was a believer of the Spiritual doctrine and the last rites were conducted by Mr. Doty of Atkinson, who is an expounder of that faith.
