JOHN MYERS

John Myers, an old resident of Fairfield township, died Tuesday night, February 15, at 10 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wright on the Myers farm four miles south of Tampico, after several months sickness with stomach trouble. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Burden school house and interment was in Whittington.

The decedent was one of the old inhabitants of this section, having resided in Fairfield township forty-six years. He was born in New Jersey, and would have been eighty-two years old the 12th of next June.He came west when a young man and settled in this vicinity where most of his life was spent.

He was married in New Jersey to Miss Mary Danberry, who died about a year after her marriage. He was married again in 1863 to Sarah Marshall, who died, who died twenty-two years ago. Three children: Mrs. Addison Wright, Mrs. George Wright and Mrs. E. E. Brady survive. One son, Elba, died about a year ago.
