Mrs. James Brown is Dead

Mrs. James BROWN died at her home six miles north of Tampico Thursday evening of pneumonia. She was taken ill Sunday and sank rapidly until the end.

Katherine GAULRAPP was born on November 12,  1835 in Germany and came to the United States in 1847 settling in New York where she lived for twenty years. June 14, 1855, she was married to James BROWN and to this union ten childfren were born, seven of which are still living.

In 1865 Mr. and Mrs. BROWN came west settlng in Hume where they have since resided.

Mrs. BROWN is survived by her husband, James BROWN seven children, Henry, Frank, and John of Hume, George of Sterling, Mrs. Barney GAFFY of Hume, Mrs. Frank HECKMAN of Cordova, also two brothers, Wendel GAULRAPP of Hume and John GAULRAPP of Denver, Colorado.

Mrs. BROWN was a member of Sacred Hart church, Sterling and was a conscientious Christian, making her daily life an evidence of her faith  She was a good wife and mother.

Funeral services were held at the family home in Hume Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock and from there the remains were taken to the Sacred Heart Church where services were conducted by Rev. Father H. M. FEGERS after which interment was made in the German Catholic cemetery.
