HAHNAMAN RESIDENT PASSED AWAY

Funeral services for D. Cecil KEEFE  were held Tuesday morning in St. Mary's church, Tampico, with the Very Rev. Raymond J. Wald of Rockford, officiating, assisted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas S. GREEN of St, Mary's church, Sterling and Rev. Leo Joseph BAREL of Dixon.

Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery with John Joe COONEY and Jean HAMBLOCK of Deer Grove, Vincent Egan of Ohio, Leo McCORMICK of Sterling, John PIGNATELLI and Gordon GARLAND of Rock Falls serving as pallbearers.

The rosary was recited at the SCHMITT chapel Monday evening led by Rev. Robert DeVINE of Loves Park. Mrs. Genevieve ALDRICH led the paryer service at the chapel Tuesday morning before goig to the church.

Mr. KEEFE passed away Sunday morning at the CG hospital, Sterling, after a short illniss.

He had spent his entire life in Hahnaman township where was born Sept. 25, 1892. He was the son of Daniel William and Elizabeth KEEFE.

He attended Deer Grove schoolsand Browns Business College of Sterling.

On July 16, 1923 he was married to Margaret Carter in St. Patrick's church, Clinton, Ia.

He was a member of St. Mary's church, Tampico, Knights of Columbus and Holy Name society, Sterling.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles MURPHY and Mrs. John F. WAHL, Sterling;  one son, Thomas, Davenport, Ia., ; one sister, Kathryn and one brother, Harry both of Deer Grove; ten grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death as did his wife and a brother, Jarold, both in 1956.

D. Cecil Keefe Rites Conducted On Tuesday

Tampico: - Funeral services for D. Cecil Keefe of Sterling were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico.

The Rev. Raymond J. Wahl of Rockford, officiated, assisted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas S. Green of St. Mary's Church, Sterling, and Rev. Leo Joseph Bartel of Dixon.  The Rosary was recited at Schmitt Chapel Monday evening led by the Rev. Robert Deivine of Loves Park.  Mrs. Genevieve Aldrich, Tampico, led prayer service at Schmitt Chapel Tuesday morning before going to the church.

Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with John Pignatelli, Leo McCormick, and Gordon Garland of Sterling, John Joe Cooney and Jean Hamblock of Deer Grove, and Vincent Egan of Ohio serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Keefe is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Murphy and Mrs. John F. Wahl of Sterling; one son, Thomas of Davenport, Iowa; one sister Kathryn and one brother Harry, both of Deer Grove, ten grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
