Clinton East, 85, of DeKalb, formerly of Jerseyville, died Nov 24, 1988, in DeKalb. a retired farmer, he was born in Greene Co., son of the late George and Lillie Gier East. surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Graham; a daughter Mary Krupp of DeKalb, two grandsons and two brothers, Clay East of Youngstown, Ariz and Dennis of Jerseyville. Three brothers proceeded him in death. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at St. Mary's Church in Tampico. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church where East had been a member. Allen-Schmitt-Garland Funeral Home of Tampico was in charge of arrangements.
