DEATH OF MRS. eLIZABETH CRUISIUS
Mrs. Elizabeth CRUSIUS an aged lady died Monday evening at 6:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. G. FRANCE. Death was caused by cancer of the stomach with which she had suffered for several years and had caused poor health.
Short funeral services were conducted at the residence at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. W. J.. EYLES of the Baptist church. Several appropriate selections were sung by Mesdames Neva and Amy DENISON with Miss Ethel SMITH as accompanist. Wesnesday morning the remains accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. M. G. FRANCE and Mrs. Lewis CRUSIUS were taken to the old home at El Paso, Ill., where funeral services were held the same morning at 10:30 at the Methodist churrch with interment at El Paso. Mr. and Mrs. George CRUSIUS of Lexington were here.
Elizabeth CRUSIUS, nee WEBER, was born at Gersbach, Bavaria, Germany, March 29, 1829. She was married to George CRUSIUS in Germany, Sept. 17, 1863 and came with her husband to this country in 1871 and settled near El Paso, Ill., where she resided for many years and was a respected and loved citizen of that community. Both mother and father were converted in their youth in Germany and united with the Methodist church and remained faithful in the service of the Lord and church unto the end. She was a regular attendant at the Methodist church here as long as her health permitted. The husband died March 6, 1880. Of recent years Mrs. CRUSIUS had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. FRANCE in Tampico. Five dhildren are living to mourn the departure of their mother, three having died in infancy. Those who survive are: Jacob CRUSIUS, Muncie, Ind.; Lewis CRUSIUS of Lexington, Ill.,; Henry CRUSIUS of Owosso, Mich.; George CRUSIUS of Sterling and Mrs. M. G. FRANCE of Tampico.
Mrs. CRUSIUS was a spendid good woman of excellent principles and was loved by her many friends and neighbors for her many good qualities.
