DEATH OF A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LIFE LAST WEEK

Former Tampico Young Lady Dies At Her Home in Sedalia, Mo.

Miss Evelyn C. GLASSBURN a fine young lady and the youngest daughter of a former prominent Tampico family, died at the family home in Sedalia, Mo., last week Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock after a week's illness of pneumonia. The news of her death was told in messages received by the relatives Thursday morning. Her critical sickness was known here among the relatives and friends who had anxiously awaited and prayed for cheering word.

Short private funeral services were held at the late home in Sedalia, Friday morning at 10 a.m. after which the remains accompanied by the sorrowing parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. GLASSBURN, were brought to Tampico. The funeral party was met at Barstow by J. L. GLASSBURN, G. W. GLASSBURN and  Earnest CLAPPER. The remains on their arrival here were taken to the home of the young lady's grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. BRAINERD where they reposed until Sunday afternoon when funeral services were held at the Methodist church where she attended faithfully before moving to Missouri. The sermon was preached by her former pastor, Rev. H. C. BROWN, Approtpriate selections were sung by Mrs. George ISHERWOOD and Homer TURNER with Miss Kathleen FRANCE as the accompnaist. The church was completly filled with relatives and friends of the deceased and the entire front of the altar was buried beneath a mass of floral tributes many of which were sent by her Missouri friends and many from the friends and relatives here. Interment was in the Tamico cemetery., the following acting as pall bearers: Clyde MEREDITH, Gordon BROOKS, Lester JACOBS, Melford OLSSON, Dean SIPPEL, and Marion VAN De MARK. The pastor *****  ****** ************ ****************** in such esteem and also her parents grandparents and other relatives that he arose from a sick bed to sonduct the services, it being necessary to go back to his bed again after the services.

Evelyn Cecelia GLASSBURN was born in Tampico, Oct. 15, 1902 and resided here until two years ago when she moved with her parents to Sedalia where she attended the Sedalia High school and was a member of the Junior class. She was also a member of the First M. E. Church there. During her residence here she was active in the Methodist Sunday school and Glee club and was one of the faithful, splendid young ladies where life stood for the better things in the community. Her untimely death came as a shock toher many frineds both in Sedalia and Tampico. She was of a sweet and lovable disposition and although in poor health most of her life, was happy and cheerful and did many kind  things for relatives and friends.

Miss Evelyn united with the Tampico M. E. church in 1911 under the pastorate of Rev. James Potter. While here she was faithful to the Sunday school and church. Her beautiful Chrisitian spirit is well remembered by her many friends. Sincemoving to Missouri her pastor down there writes that she rarely ever missed Sunday school, that she loved Jesus and  did not fear death.

She is survived by her heart broken parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. GLASSBURN, one sister, Gertrude of Sedalia, adn two brothers Louis and Wade both at home at Sedalia, also her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. K. BRAINERD of this place and a host of relatives and friends who have the entire sympathy of the entire community.
