Peter C. JOHNSON

Rites Held Monday

TAMPICO - Funeral services for Peter Clarence JOHNSON, 88, lifetime resident of Fairfield Township, were held Monday in the Tampico Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Stoube officiating. Burial was in the Sheffield Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert, Sam, Peter, Leonard, John and Harvey JOHNSON.

Gorgan selections were played before and after the service. Mrs. Harold ANDERSON accompanied Miss Ruth ANDERSON at the piano for the hymn. "The Lord Is My Shepherd."

Floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. John JOHNSON and Mrs. Harvey JOHNSON.

Ushers at the church were Maynard, Peterson and Frank Gerber.

Peter C. JOHNSON

Funeral Services for Peter C. JOHNSON, 88, Tampico, were held Aug. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the Tampico Baptist Church, the Rev. Joseph R. STOUBE officiating. Mrs. Maynard PETERSON was organist, Mrs. Harold ANDERSON was pianist. The soloist was Miss Ruth ANDERSON. Burial was at the Sheffield Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robert JOHNSON, Sam JOHNSON, Peter JOHNSON, Harvey JOHNSON, Leonard JOHNSON, and John JOHNSON.

Mr. JOHNSON passed away Aug. 21, at the Perry Memorial Hopsital, Princeton, where he had been a patient 11 days. He was born March 16, 1876, in Fairfield Township, Bureau County, the son of Olof and Johanna Lindgren JOHNSON.

He married Eva Valeria STEWART June 13, 1898. To this union were born 7 children.

He was a member of the Bureau County Farm Bureau and director of the Tampico National Bank.

Survivors are four children, one daughter, Lillie Mae JOHNSON, at home, three sons, Everett L. Wyanet; Wilbert T., Cheektowage, New York; and V. Francis, Tampico.

Eight  grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Lester E., who passed away last September. Two children passed away in infancy. One grandson, Richard Leroy passed away in 1957.
