Robert L. Meyer, 79, died Saturday October 14, 2006 at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. Robert was born on November 26, 1926 in Sublette, IL the son of William and Hattie (Brucker) Meyer. He married Marian Mau on June 4, 1944 in Walnut. Robert farmed in Harmon for 45 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of Walnut Methodist Church in Walnut.

Surviving is his wife, Marian; one daughter, Jan (Richard) Denney of Wauwatosa, WI; one son, Larry (Sandy) Meyer of Harmon; one sister, Dorothy Beahm of Fremont, NE; five grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rita; one brother, Ralph Meyer.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday October 21, 2006 at Walnut Methodist Church with Reverend Paul Nolden officiating. Burial with Masonic services will follow at the Walnut Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Walnut Fire Department and Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
