BUREAU COUNTY PIONEER DEAD
Henry Cooley, another of the few remaining early settlers near Yorktown, passed from this life Monday, March 30, at his home near where he located nearly sixty years ago. He was eighty-five years old and for the past year or two had been in poor health.
Mr. Cooley was a man of high intelligence and a good business ability and was prominently identified with the affairs of Bureau county during a long period. For thirty years he was town treasurer and for a long time conducted a general store at Yorktown. He was successful and at one time owned a number of farms.
There are many surviving relatives, mostly grandchildren, who will revere his memory.
