MRS. LOUISA BUNZEY
Louisa Oleva Bunzey was born in Iro Corners, Cayuga Co., N.Y., March 8, 1842, and died at Round Grove, Ill., May 27, 1920. Mrs. Bunzey came to Illinois with her parents, Amos and Achsah Bocan, in 1855, locating near Round Grove, where she resided continously up to the time of her death. She was married May 22, 1867 to Harvey Bunzey, whose death occurred in 1905. She was the last survivor of a family of eleven brothers and sisters. She was the mother of five children, William A., who died in infancy, and Arthur J., whose death occurred in December, 1919, Fred A. of Round Grove, Rufus S. of Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Bertha C. Bennett, of Dixon, Ill., all of whom were at her bedside when the final summons came. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She enjoyed remarkable health throughout her life, and was vigorous and active up to within a few days of her death, when she suffered an attack of pneumonia and died after a brief illness. While she was own mother of five, she was actual mother to a score or more. She became affiliated with the Methodist church in her youth and lived a consistent Christian life to the day of her death, which came as the end of a beautiful life, covering a span of years of self sacrifice and devotion to others. Her life will be an inspiration and her memory cherished by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Sunday at the home and 3 at the Round Grove church, Rev. T. P. Brannum officiating. Interment was in the Round Grove cemetery.
