JAMES GLENN

James Glenn Dies, Funeral Rites To Be Held Wednesday


James W. Glenn, 63, passed away in his home, 511 3rd Ave., Sterling, Monday evening after an extended illness. He was born Aug.6, 1905 in Coleta, Ill., the son of James W. and Amelia Berhens Glenn. He received his education in the Coleta schools.

For a number of years he operated the Glenn Motor Sales in Sterling. He was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church of Sterling, Rock River Lodge 612 A.F. and A.M., Tebala Shrine Temple at Rockford, the Eastern Star and Freeport Consistory. For over 40 years he had been employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as an engineer. He was united in marriage to Rozella Santee, June 30, 1962 in the Fourth Street United Methodist Church of Sterling.

Survivors includes his wife Rozella, one son James W. Glenn Jr., and one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Shirley) Coulter Sterling; two step-brothers, Dwight Reecher and Raymond Reecher, Coleta; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. One daughter, one sister, one brother, one step-brother and his parents preceded in death. Mr. Glenn was also preceded in death by his first wife Violet, Oct. 5, 1957.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Melvin Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Chakour, pastor of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Knoll Memorial Park Cemetery.
