Mrs. Mildred I. Knuth, 82, of 751 W. South St. Galesburg, IL, died at 6:10 PM Tuesday April 24, 2001 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Saturday April 28, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Norman Myer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday April 27, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Cottage Hospital Skilled Care Unit or the First Presbyterian Church.

 

She was born on May 19, 1918 in Tampico IL to Clarence and Blanch (Wheelock) Darnell. She married Glen C. "Charlie" Knuth in Tampico on May 10, 1941. He survives. She was a registered nurse at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for over 30 years, retiring in 1983. She was a 1936 graduate of Galesburg High School and a 1940 graduate of the Sterling (IL) Public Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

 

She is survived by her husband, Glenn C. Knuth of Galesburg, IL; two sons, Larry R. Knuth of Galesburg, IL and Steven C. Knuth of Oak Harbor, WA; three daughters, Glenda Rasmussen of Manlius, IL, Janet Clay and Kathy L. Clifford, both of Galesburg, IL; a sister, Rosetta Brandenberg of Galesburg, IL; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
