John L. Hook, 81, Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL; formerly of Morrison, IL died Sunday, June 8, 2006 at the nursing home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL. Rev. John W. Nienhuis, Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. John was born May 16, 1925 in Fulton, IL to Earl and Grace (Blink) Hook. He was educated in Teehan grade school of rural Fulton and attended Fulton High School. He married Loretta J. Eizenga on August 24, 1945 in Morrison, IL. She survives.
He was a resident of Morrison for 60 years. He was employed for 42 years in Morrison at Potter Lumber, which then became J.A. Bull and Sons Lumber. He was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta of Prophetstown; three daughters: Sandy (Mrs. Jim) Rosenow, Morrison, IL, Peggy (Mrs. Jerry) Miller, Springfield, IL, Penny (Mrs. Kent) Roman, Prophetstown, IL; one son, Dan (Joan) Hook, Morrison, IL; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Jenny (Mrs. LaVerne) Rose, Fair Haven, IL.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Epa, Isaac and Dan Hook.
