Dianne C. Smith

            Dianne C. Smith, 66, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Coventry Village Nursing Home, Sterling, IL.

            Dianne was born on December 2, 1938 in Prophetstown, IL the daughter of Taylor and Marcella (Lindberg) Curry.  She married Ronald Smith on February 11, 1961 in Prophetstown.  Mrs. Smith was employed for 30 years with the State of Illinois Department  of Human Services retiring September 4, 1998.  Dianne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sterling.  She enjoyed knitting and gardening.

            Surviving is her husband; two sons, Jeff Smith of Rock Falls and Ken (Peggy) Smith of Appleton, WI; two sisters, Doris Brumbly, Lost Nation and Dorothy Rush of Muskeegon, MI; two brothers, Kenneth (Ginny) Curry of Bloomington, IL and Keith (Lois) Curry of Muskeegon, MI; four grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Hoberling, Stacie Cantrell, Dustin Smith, Hailey Smith, Samantha Smith and Andy Smith.

            She was preceded in death by her parents.

            Funeral services were Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls with the Rev. Christine Gilbert of the First United Methodist Church  in Sterling officiating.  Burial was at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

            A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
