ATTEND FUNERAL OF FRANK J. HATHAWAY

 

            Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral services Sunday of Frank J. Hathaway at Prophetstown were W.E. Reynolds and daughter Harriett of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Sr., of Savanna.

FORMER RESIDENT OF PROPHETOWN DIES

 

            Word has been received in Prophetstown that F.J. Hathaway, former resident of that city, passed away Tuesday in Zebra, Mo., from a ruptured appendix.  The remains will be brought to Prophetstown for burial.  Full details of the funeral have not been learned.

HOLD LAST RITES FOR P’TOWN MAN WHO DIED IN THE WEST

Body of Frank Hathaway Brought Back For Interment

 

            Funeral services for Frank Hathaway, 44 years old, who died Tuesday at his home at Zebra, Mo., were held Sunday at 2 o’clock p.m. at Ott’s funeral chapel in Prophetstown.  Services were conducted by John G. Hagelock, Christian Science reader of Sterling.  Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Prophetsown.

            The pallbearers were: L.E. McNamara, LeRoy Reynolds, C.C. Reynolds, John Teach, William Pettit and Charles Maxfield.

            Frank James Hathaway was born December 15, 1886 at Appleton, Wis., and died January 6, 1931, at Zebra, Mo.  His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Hathaway.  He was married June 16, 1924, to Helena Belle Reynolds, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at The Little Brown Church, at Nashua, Iowa.  Before this marriage, he was a resident of Saskatchewan, Canada for 10 years.

            Since 1924, he resided on a farm one mile east of Prophetstown, until the spring of 1930.  In November 1930, the family moved to Zebra, Mo., where Mr. Hathaway was employed by the Utilities Construction company.

            Survivors are his widow and two sons, Dean, age 5, and Robert, two years old, one sister, Mrs. Fred Smith of Savanna, Illinois, and one brother, James S. Hathaway, of Minot, N.D.
