MOURN DEATH OF WM. PAXSON
In the death of William J. Paxson, Prophetstown universally mourns, and on is constrained to say that God Almighty has reached out and plucked down of the very choicest of flowers, and in doing has enriched His kingdom. If Christianity is service to humanity, then William J. Paxson was the embodiment of Christianity. His was a life of service, always living his religion and putting into his life tat which he espoused in joining the church. Mr. Paxson lived such a life as to call down the universal encomium of all, in speaking of him, it cannot be said that he had an enemy, and yet he was a man who stood for his rights and what he believed to be just. He was known for his veracity and honor. He could count his friends by his acquaintances. To know Mr. Paxson was to love and respect him. He was one of God’s chosen disciples, leading by his noble character those with whom he came in contact. Serving his town and the community in many capacities there is none to condemn but many to proclaim his virtues. Exemplary in habit, in acts, and four square in all the things that go to make for manhood he stood out conspicuous among his followers. Surely his will be a complete inheritance of the kingdom above.
