Fred H. May, Succumbs in Chicago Sunday Morning;  Rites in Prophetstown
 
Fred H. May, 63, of Chicago, a former Prophetstown resident, died at 2 a.m. Sunday in the Sheridan Mansion convalescent home in Chicago, where he had been confined the past six weeks.  Heart trouble was the cuase of his death.  The body was brought to the Helm and Helm mortuary in Prophetstown on Sunday and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Helm and Helm funeral home.  Interment will be in Riverside cemetery in Prophetstown.
 
The deceased was born on July 15, 1879, at Prophetstown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred May.  He had been employed in the United States customs house office in Chicago for 39 years, from which he retired on May 1, 1942.  He leaves one brother, David May of Port Washington, New York;  who with his wife will arrive in Prophetstown this Monday evening.
 
The deceased was a nephew of the late Fred Hutchinson of Prophetstown and spent his vacation each summer with his uncle before the latter's death.
