W. Karl Palmer Funeral Wednesday
 
Funeral services for W. Karl Palmer, 79, who died Monday morning in Community General hospital, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Trouth funeral home with the Rev. Paul Bloomquist, pastor of the Fourth Street Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Lyndon cemetery.
 
A native of Rock Falls and former Sterling industrialist, Mr. Palmer had been in failing health for some time.
 
Mr. Palmer had been prominent in civic and business circles for many years.  He was one of the original organizers of Frantz Manufacturing Co., and served as secretary-treasurer of the firm.  He also served on the board of the Union school district and was a city commissioner from 1931 to 1935.  He was a member of the Fourth Street Methodist church and the Elks club.
 
Mr. Palmer was born on Aug. 24, 1872 in Rock Falls, the son of William K. and Adaline Palmer.  He married Maude M. Greenlee on Aug. 24, 1891, in Lyndon and the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 24, 1951.
 
He is survived by his wife;  a son, Harold K. Palmer;  two daughters, Mrs. Clark (Vera) Prentiss and Mrs. Marsden (Helen) Miller, all of Sterling; five grandchildren; and three great granddaughters.
 
Friends may call at the Trouth funeral home.
