Thomas Regan, 79, Of Hopkins Township, Dies; Funeral To Be Tuesday
Thomas Regan, 79, for many years road commissioner of Hopkins township, where he had resided all his life, died at his home in Hopkins at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The body was removed to the Trouth funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be from the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church, where a requiem high mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Regan was a member of the Holy Name Society and members will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 8 p.m. tonight. He was also a member of the Sterling council, Knights of Columbus, of the Farm Bureau, and had been active in the AAA program.
He was born Nov. 16, 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Regan, in the same home in which he had lived all his life. He was married to Mary Gronis Aprill 10, 1901 in St. Mary church of Sterling, by Father Bennett, pastor at that time.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mary Regan; two sons, James and Charles, residing west of Sterling; four grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, P. H. Regan, Sterling; Miss Kate Regan, Sterling; John Regan, Galt; Mrs. Albert Boyer and Mrs. Guy Seavey, Portland, Ore.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four children, Edward, William, Robert and Marie; and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Seidel, Mrs. Clarence Knox and Miss Margaret Regan.
