OBITUARY

Mrs. Monafae B. Wetzell, age 93, of 26020 Star Road, Tampico, Illinois, died Thursday, March 18, 1999 in Coventry Village Nursing Home in Sterling.

 

Funeral services will be conducted onTuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Tampico with the Rev. Linda Hood, pastor officiatiing. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visistation will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tamico. A memorial has been established in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Tampico.

 

Mrs. Wetzell was born on January 2, 1906 in Tampico, Illiinois, the daughter of James Albert and Ada Murphy Price. She was united in marriage to Paul D. Wetzell on August 24, 1927 at Elizabeth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 13, 1997. She was a school teacher at a country school in the Tampico area for several years prior toher marriage. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tampico, the Martha Circle at the church, a Sunday School teacher and was secretary of the Sudnay School for many years. She was also a member of the O. E. S. in Propetstown, Illinois.

 

She is survived by three sons, Arthur (Marjorie) Wetzell and John (Anna Mae) Wetzell, both of Tampico, Illinois, and Richard (Lois) Wetzell of Rock Falls, Illinois; twelve grandchilderen; twenty-nine great-grandchldren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numberous neices and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one great-grandson, Eric Wetzell.
