OBITUARY

 

John E. Pierceson, age 70, of 17777 Roscoe Road, Deer Grove, Illinois, died July 21, 1999, Wednesday, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sudnay at 1 p.m. in Tampico United Methodist Chruch in Tampico with the Rev. Linda Hood, pastor and Jennie Gibson, youth pastor of Clinton, Iowa Christian Church co-officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in his memory to the charity of the donot’s choice.

 

Mr. Pierceson was born February 23, 1929 near Tampico, Illinois, the son of John and Temple Shere Pierceson. He was united in marriage to Florence Dessing on September 4 1948 at Rock Falls, Illinois. He farmed his entire life in the Deer Grove area. He was a member of the Tampico United Methoidist Church, Tampico Lions Club, Whiteside County Fair Board, Hahnaman Township Drainage Commissioner, and past grade school and high school board member.

 

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Deer Grove, Illinois,; two sons John F. “Tude” (Jolene) Pierceson and Mary (Jill) Pierceson, both of Tampico, Illinois, four grandsons, Shannon, dustin, Jaramie, and Brian; one granddaughter, Darci; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Crenshaw of Sterling, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one great-granchild.
