Mr. Royal A. Jackson, age 70, of 206 S. Main Place, Tampico, Illinois died Wednesday morning, June 12, 1991 in CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 14th at 1:30 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home i Tampico with Rev. Dennis I. Heaney, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial has been established in his memory. Graveside military rites will be accorded by Prophetstown American Legion.
Mr. Jackson was born on January 18, 1921 in Stone Station, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Daisy Miles Jackson. He was united in marriage to Marie Gerdes in February 24, 1967 in Prophetstown, Illinois. He was a painter during his lifetime.
He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII, was a member of the Rock Falls VFW, and The Prophetstown American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife Marie of Tampico, two stepsons, Martin Tornow and Lavern Tornow, both of Tampico, one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Munz of Florida, five grandchildren, two brothers, Walter Jackson of Sterling, Illinois and Wallace Jackson of California, six sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Lillian) Immel of Dixon, Illinois, Mrs. Marion (Mildred) Elliott of Florida. Mrs. Goldie Dixon, Mrs. Anna Mae Seidel, Mrs. Laura Abney, and Mrs. Genevieve Kelly all of Sterling, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
