Lillie M. Johnson, age 96, of Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, and formerly of Tampico, Illinois died Wednesday, January 24, 1996 in Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 27, at 11 a.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, with Rev. Lauren Gerber, retired minister officiating. Burial will be in the Sheffield Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in her memory to the Tampico Ambulance Service.
Miss Johnson was born July 24, 1899 near Thomas, Illinois, the daughter of Peter C. and Eva Valarie Stewart Johnson. She worked at her father's mercantile store from 1922-25 and then did housekeeping and kept records for her father.
She was a member of the Tampico Baptist Church, was very active in the Republican party, attended Johnson Grade School near Thomas, Illinois, and was a graduate of Sheffield High School.
She is survived by one brother, V. Francis Johnson of Thomas, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Leonard, Lester, Everett and Wilbert Johnson.
