Mr. Wilbur L. "Bill" Kahly, age 84, of Tampico, Illinois died Saturday evening, May 17, 1997 in Morrison Skilled Care Facility in Morrison, Illinois.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 21 at 10 a.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, with the Rev. Linda Hood, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Tampico officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in his memory to the Tampico Ambulance Service.
Mr. Kahly was born on October 2, 1912 in Cedarville, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Ruth Pepperman Kahly. He was united in marriage to Elda Marie Kamensky on November 25, 1943 in Savanna, Illinois and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1995. He was i the auto body repair business for over fifty years in Carroll and Whiteside Counties.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Linda) Taets of Tampico, Illinois; and one son, Larry (Mari) Kahly of Sterling, Illinois; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorna Brubaker and Irma Rose Schniederman, both of Freeport, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson.
