Mr. Raymond W. "Pete" Bruder, age 81, of 205 W 4th Street, Tampico, Illinois, died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at  his home in Tampico.

Mr. Bruder was born on September 12, 1922 in Yorktown, Illinois, the so of Adolph and Ida Holtz Bruder. He was united in marriage to Eva Fern Williams on September 12, 1942 at the Tampico United Methodist Church. He was a plumber for over 50 years in the Tampico area. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII, was a member of the Tampico Church of Christ, and the Tampico American Legion Post. Several years ago he and his wife were awarded the Achievement Award from the Village of Tampico.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Fern Bruder of Tampico, Illinois; one daughter, Gloria (Greg) Abbott of Spring Valley, Illinois; three sons: Ron (Connie) Bruder of Rock Falls, Illinois; Ricky (Becky) Bruder of South Bend, Indiana, Randy (Jill) Bruder of O'Fallon, Illinois; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Byers of Rock Falls, Illinois, Eula Mae Chriest of Tampico, Illinois, Bernadine Bruder of Tampico, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Jo Price, two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with Rev. Clarke Devore, pastor of the Tampico Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, Illinois. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Garland Funeral Home.  A memorial has been established in his memory to the Tampico Church of Christ or Rock River Valley Hospice.
