Prophetstown: - Charles Allen Hitchcock, 42, Route 1, Geneseo, died Wednesday morning at Moline Public Hospital.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lorraine United Methodist Church, rural Prophetstown, with the Rev. Marlin Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.  Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Gardner Funeral Home in Prophetstown and Saturday until the time of the services at the church.  Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the church.
 
Mr. Hitchcock was born Dec. 20, 1939 in Marhsalltown, Iowa, the son of Allen Alberta (Pickerill) Hitchcock. He attended Des Moines schools and graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.  He was united in marriage to Sharon McCormick on March 30, 1978.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 293 AF and AM.  He was employed at Penberthy Manufacturing for several years and the CDI Corporation of Bettendorf, Iowa.
 
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his mother, Mrs. Alberta Hitchcock of Wilmington; three step-sons, John of Arkansas, Jim and Jeff of Geneseo; one grandchild; one sister, Mrs Billie Jean Hand of Plainfield, and one brother, Allen Jr. of Wilmington.  He was preceded in death by his father.
