W. WARD PRITCHARD
Prophetstown: - W. Ward Pritchard, 80, of rural Prophetstown, died Thursday at Community General Hospital in Sterling.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Gardner Chapel in Prophetstown with Rev. Marilyn Lansberry, pastor of the Leon United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.
Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Avenue of Flags.
Mr. Pritchard was born on Oct. 1, 1906 in rural Prophetstown, the son of William and Mattie Baker Pritchard. On June 10, 1936 he was united in marriage to Cora Teach in Lyndon. He was educated in Prophetstown and had farmed in that area for many years until retiring in 1966.
The deceased was a 32nd degree Mason and a member and past president of the Prophetstown Lodge 293.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mary Goss of Irving, Texas; three sons, William of Lyndon and Jack and Forrest "Butch", both of Prophetstown; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; and one brother, Forrest C. of Prophetstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
