GLORIA M. COERS

Gloria M. Coers, 69, of Tampico died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Gloria was born November 22, 1938 in Chicago, the daughter of Angelo and Gina (Dotti) Veracini. She married Walter A. Johanssen, Jr. and he died November 22, 1997. She later married Russell D. Coers, Jr. on March 8, 2008 in Sterling.  Gloria enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Survivors included her husband Russell of Tampico; a daughter Debra (Dr. Thomas) Hogge, of Dixon; a son, Mike Johanssen of Dixon; a  step-daughter, DeAnna Lynn Coers of Clinton, Iowa; 2 step-sons, Brian Scott (Tiffany) Coers of Florida and Russell Lee (Bridgett) Coers of Texas; a sister, Laura Tintori of Rock Falls; grandchildren, Alyvia Hogge, Carson Hogge, April Fitzgerald, Autumn Walters, Ali Johannsen, Chris Johannsen, Jessica Meiners, Ashley Coers, Lucas Hemminger, Jenna Coers, Jacob Coers and Ryan Coers. She also was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers, Enrico, Rico and Leo Veracini.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak; pastor of St. Andrew Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
