LORITA THOMPSON BRIDE IN CEREMONY HERE SUNDAY
The Rev. John Vaughn officiated at three o'clock Sunday afternoon at the marriage of Miss Lorita Joyce Thompson and Allan M. VanDeMark. The ceremony was witnessed by the immediate families of the couple.
The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Richard Randall of Galesburg, and the groom's attendant was his brother, Paul L. VanDeMark of Dayton, O.
The bride wore a beige crepe dress with brown accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. Her sister's dress was of beige crepe with brown accessories and her corsage was pink and white carnations. The mothers, Mrs. Monroe Thompson and Mrs. Vernon VanDeMark, wore black dresses and corsages of white carnations. The grandmothers, Mrs. Maxfield of Sterling, and Mrs. Grant Wildman, had corsages of white chrysanthemums.
The ceremoney was followed by a reception at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon VanDeMark, at which the bride's sister, Mrs. Edward Stralow of Rock Falls, and Mrs. Paul VanDeMark of Dayton, O., served. A wedding cake in yellow and white was centered with a wedding bell.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Thompson. She graduated from the local high school in 1944 after which she attended a Western Union school at Crawfordsville, Ind., and was employed for a time at Elgin. She has been employed at Marge's Beauty Shop and will continue her work there. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon VanDeMark. He also graduated from Prophetstown high school in 1944 and has since been employed in The Eclipse Lawn Mower Co. office and part time at Fadden Bros. market.
