MISS MAY ALLEN AND RICHARD MITCHELL WED
Miss May L ALLEN and Richard D. MITCHELL Married Here Tuesday Afternoon
Miss May L. ALLEN of this place and Richard D. MITCHELL of Lanark were married Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at St. Mary's parsonage by Rev. L.X. DuFOUR. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. LeRoy GLASSBURN who acted as bridesmaid and groomsman, Mrs. GLASSBURN being a sister of the bride. The bride was very nicely attired in a traveling suit of blue serge with hat to match. Following the ceremony the couple went to Sterling in the groom’s auto and from there to Chicago where they will spend several days. They will make their home on the groom's eighty acre farm just north of Lanark where they will be at home to their many (sic) friends both in Lanark and Tampico after April 15.
The bride is one of Tampico's popular and well known young ladies (sic) and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred ALLEN well known and old residents of this place. For many years she was employed as bookkeeper in the GRAMPP Poultry house and is a young lady of fine attainments and splendid manners which have drawn to her a wide circle of friends.
The groom is a hustling young farmer who has been operating his farm just north of Lanark where he is known as a steady, reliable young man of excellent character and a successful farmer. Both of the young people have many friends who extend their best wishes for many years of happiness.
