JEANNINE RUTH LARSON & RICHARD M. MEISEL JR

Marriage Vows Are Spoken Saturday In Church Rectory

Miss Jeannine Ruth Larson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August A. Larson of Sterling, and Richard M. Meisel, jr., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Meisel of Rock Falls, were quietly married Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in the St. Mary rectory.  The Rev. Fr. Kenneth F. Shuman, S.J., performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of the members of the immediate families.  Miss Carolyn Voreck of Des Moines, Ia., college friend of the bride, and Lee Matera of Rock Falls, were the couple's only attendants.

A wedding breakfast at Jul's followed the ceremony, 20 covers being laid for the bridal party and family members.

For her wedding day, the bride chose a ballerina length shell-pink lace frock worn over taffeta, with a matching poke bonnet.  Her corsage was of white orchids and carnations.  Miss Voreck wore a lace gown in a deeper pink and carried pink roses.  The bride's mother was in brown and beige and the groom's mother in navy blue sheer. Both wore gardenia corsages.

During the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Larson received 125 friends and relatives in their home on West Eleventh street to congratulate their daughter and her bridegroom.  Hostesses in the home were the bride's aunt, Mrs. Leroy Kelly of Tampico, Miss Lorraine Roach of Chicago, and Mrs. Allen Puels.  Mrs. William McCue, and Mrs. Bryce Wolf, Miss Lois Lambrecht presided over the guest book and Miss Jean McCue was in charge of the gifts.  Miss Sally Meisel, the bridegroom's sister, and Miss Sally Chapin, of Tampico, the bride's cousin, presented each lady with a small box containing good luck wedding cake.  Mrs. Burnie Peile, aunt of the bride, sang three groups of songs during the reception hours, with Mrs. Marion Coe as accompanist.

At the refreshment table, Mrs. George Hunsberger, aunt of the bridegroom, and Mrs. H. E. Chapin of Tampico, the bride's cousin, poured.  Another aunt of the bride, Mrs. Charles O. Larson, cut the wedding cake after the bridal pair made the initial slice.  The bride's chosen colors of pink and white were carried out in the floral arrangements in the home and in the corsages worn by the hostesses.  Reception guests were present from Chicago, Rock Island, Mendota, Compton, and several nearby communities.

The young Mr. and Mrs. Meisel have lived all their lives in this community and received their educations in the schools of Sterling and Rock Falls.  After her graduation from Sterling Township high school, Mrs. Meisel attended Frances Shimer school at Mt. Carroll and was later graduated from Monticello College for Women at Alton, Ill.  During the past year she has been the assistant kindergarten teacher in Merrill school, Rock Falls, which work she plans to continue this year.  Mr. Meisel is a graduate of Community high school and is employed at the Russell, Burdsall, and Ward Co.

Upon their return from their honeymoon, the young couple will reside in an apartment on East Third street in Rock Falls, where they will be at home after July **.
