Admiral Reeves Honored Baltimore, Oct. 2, (AP)

Admiral Joseph Mason Reeves, United States Navy, retired, was designated today as recipient of the first annual scroll of honor for distinguished service to be awarded by the Maryland branch of the Navy League of the United States. Rear Admiral Reeves, former commander of the U. S. fleet and a pioneer in developing the fleet's air arm, will receive the award at Maryland Navy Day ceremonies here October 28. A native of Illinois, Rear Admiral Reeves was graduated from the Naval Academy in 1890. After serving in the Spanish-American and World Wars, he was apponted naval attache at the American embassy in Rome. He also was a delegate to the arms limitation conference in Geneva in 1927. After leaving the post of commander-in-chief he served as chairman of the navy's general board. He makes his home in Washington
