Thank You
Feb. 8,1960
Kind Friends:
I want to express my hearty thanks during my illness for all the kindnesses extended me in various ways by the lovely cards, beautiful flowers, personal calls, auto rides, treats, candies, cookies and cakes; the beautifully decorated Christmas tree; carollers at Christmas time; remembrances by the Tampico churches at Christmas.
The courtesy of Fred Hahn, bringing my mail.
The courtesy of Wilson Berge and Fred Scott, taking me to church each Sunday for more than a year.
The kindness of the Methodist pastor in frequent calls.
Masons eastern Star of Tampico and Hooppole and Palestine Shrine No. 34 of Morrison, Ill.
Visits by my nephew, Claude Gorton and wife, Clara of Aurora, who come over often.
The Sanders’ have taken me in and treated me as one of their own.
In the face of these many kindnesses, I must say:
Lord, help me live from day to day in such a self-forgetful way that always when I stop to pray, I’ll offer prayer for others.
Yours sincerely,
A. E. Bennett c/o Sanders Rest Home
