Looking for information about Nils Linderblad a.k.a. Nels/Nelson Linderblood and his family. Nels emigrated with his family, wife Anna Larsson (b. 22 may 1821), daughter Elna (b.5 march 1848),son Nils (b. 1852), from Sweden in 1852. Nels was born August the 14th 1818. According to a letter from his brother-in-law Paul Nelson, written in 1861, Nels had been in the Civil war and were in the end of 1861 a saloon keeper in Princeton. On the net I´ve found that he joined the army again. He was still alive in 1870 but not in 1877. His widow and son was still living in Princeton in 1880 but disappears after that. Has anyone a tip to give me how to continue my search?

Wow. Thanks for the info. There were lot of new things to think about. One thing that puzzles me is that I´ve found him (at least I think it´s him) in Company I, 59th Illinois infantery, in 1864-65 . If he claimed disabillity, why did he join again? Well, guess I figure it out down the road.

Anna, If you send me your email, I will send you a copy of the pension claim. It could have been a temp. disability. The Bureau Co. Historical Society in Princeton may have more info (probably a small fee for research) or the Genealogical Society in Kewanee. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any more help! ---------- Denise Family History Coordinator Tampico Area Historical Society
