I am interested in learning more about Jesse Hill, Sr from North Carolina. He and his 9 children arrived in 1835 settling on the north side of Genesee Grove, Whiteside Co. Ill. Jesse Hill is my husbands ggggrandfather. His son, Jesse Hill, Jr. eventually travelled the Oregon Trail in 1864 with my husbands Great Grandmother, Mary Hill, age 12 with at least her father Jesse Hill, Jr. We know nothing of Mary's mother or of any siblings. Any information regarding the Hill family, including photos, dates of marriages, deaths, military, anything, would be of value to us. The names of the 9 children, other than Jesse Hill Jr. are, John, Daniel, William and Zach. the girls, no first names of the girls but we do have the names of the men they married, as follows; Nathaniel Moxley, Samuel Seer, James Walker and Ebenezer Huffman. Thank you!

Terry,
A site-search shows Jesse Hill, Jr. as a pioneer settler in Clyde Township. I'll see if there is anymore written. Have you tried the IL Trails/Whiteside web site?
