Am researching the descendants of Minerva Miller and Marcus Ruel Lyon, as well as ancestors of Minerva Miller. Minerva died in Tampico March 6,1936, and Marcus died in Tampico June 5, 1908.

Their children were Lottie, Lewis, Gracie, Hubert, Kate, Martha, Rhoda, Mina and Minerva (twins), and Marcus Jr., born between 1871 and 1891.

I am a grandaughter of Minerva.

Anyone with information on Minerva's siblings, or her mother's ancestors, please contact me at hartnellsl@comcast.net

To the Hartnell's,
Have you been to the Odell Library in Morrison, IL? A friend of mine did an extensive research on the Lyon Family and after she died, her son gave several of her books to the library. This same Lyon Family is in my ancestry, and a few of them live in the Prophetstown area.

Janet, Thanks for your message. I live in Michigan, and have been able to get over to Whiteside County only once so far. At that time I spent most of my time in the library in Sterling, visited the Lyon home sites in Tampico, and researched the property records of the Tampico house. I did not get to the library in Morrison, however. I did hear from someone that there were extensive materials - too many to copy apparently. I have the direct Lyon line information from the 3-volume set on the family. I would like to connect with Mina Lyon Rife's descendants but have been unable to locate any. I'm also interested in Minerva Miller Lyon's Miller genealogy. I guess I'll just have to schedule another trip west!
