A marker between Wyanet and Walnut. Henry Thomas first homestead May 5 1828 Col. Zach Taylor later Pres.of U.S.and Jefferson Davis Lodged here on route to Galena at begining of the Black Hawk war.Also site of the first P.O. in Bureau Co. Thought it was very interesting.
