Seeking information regarding his first marriage to Katie Dorathy. Katie Breckenridge died at age 23 and is buried in Sandytown Cemetery. Prior to her young death she was the mother of two children John D. and Sadi Breckenridge. Geo later remarried Nancy Agness or Agness Nancy. Seeking to find if anyone knows the cause of death for his first wife Katie who died 1875. Thank you
Denise

Merlyn,
Do you have an exact date of death? I can check the Echo newspapers and see if there is an obit. Did you check with Connie at the County Clerk's office?
Vital Records Information: clandheer@whiteside.org
website: Whiteside County Clerk If you email her and ask her if she could tell you if the cause of death is listed, she should be able to tell you. You may want to purchase a copy of the d/c, if available. I think they are $8-$10. Connie might tell you if it's on there, so you know if it's worth purchasing. She's very accommodating. Let me know if that works or if you need me to look for obit.

I'm not sure they would have that year, since I don't think they were required until 1879. But still worth checking. Let me know if that works out.

Merlyn,
If you did not find the info you needed from Whiteside Co. clerk, you might also try the Prophetstown Historical Society - Fred South. Do you still have that contact email? fsouth@frontiernet.net Since she was buried in Sandytown Cemetery, they may have some records.

I sent Fred an email and Marilyn at the Sterling Library was going to search for a couple of articles.
Thanks for all of your help.
