kathy67 3 posts May 05, 2006 8:23 AM	Years ago in Penrose, which is located at the corner of Freeport Road and Penrose Road, north of Sterling, there was a grocery store on the corner. It has been run or owned by some of my relatives but, I don't know their full names, or what years they were in business there. One is a Buckingham and I think the other is a Schaefer( possibly related to the Sivits family or Deets family) Buckingham was related to the Schultz's.I'm not sure of the years they were there unfortunately. That's why I was hoping someone out there would recall who ran the store in the past.Sorry if my post was confusing.
Debra L. Peterson 43 posts May 05, 2006 6:39 PM	I do remeber when it was a grocery store but I do not who owned it at that time- it became an antiques store for awhile and was owned by Pete Zolli. You may want to contact Whiteside County Courthouse to see if they have any records on the Store- possibly the Tax Assessor's office would be able to find that for you. Deb
