The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

I have been doing genealogy on the members of our family.
I am hoping that someone, oneday will know one or all of these family names and have data, photos and stories they might like to share with us. As we would love to do with them.
We are looking for John Wicks and Abigail Wicks maiden name of Hartwell's obits. and graves. Maybe ??/ in the Sheffield, ILL. area. But not sure. Could be naponset or anywhere. We do know they were Methodists and John past away by our calulations around 1848 give or take a year.
Abigail past on after him. A cousin Carolyn and I have been working on our genealogy now for about four years and we have hit a brick wall. We need help putting the rest of our data together.
We do know that the Wicks family like Benjamin Franklin Wicks married a Christiana Klock and two other family members married into the Klock family. Christina's parents names were John B. Klock and Margaret and they were also Methodists and living in Bureau Co. May of died about 1860 or earlier?/
The Wicks, Klocks, McKim families lived close to one another among the other Wicks families. I don't know what records are available in Bureau Co. Ill. But if anyone can help I would really be greatful! Thank you
