Ok, I've tied in EMMONS to BUELL:
Lydia Myer EMMONS (dau of Lehman L. & Jane nee HALE EMMONS) m Jewett Clinton BUELL (son of Clinton C. and Mary Althea nee NILES BUELL).
And I've tied BUELL to McWHORTER:
Fred BUELL (brother of Jewett) m Charlotte Louise McWHORTER (dau of H. Tylor & Rhoda Ann nee WARD McWHORTER)
I have traced H. Tylor McWHORTER's tree back 3 generations to 1777 in Orange Co., NY hoping to find a link to "my" Frank McWHORTER - but I was not successful.
Frank (maybe Francis) McWHORTER m Minnie HOGEBOOM, sister of my g grandmother Daisy nee HOGEBOOM DOW. Minnie's marriage apparently was very difficult and she was separated from her husband Frank (he was living in Carthage, IL) when she took her life in Moline, IL in 1900. She left her 4 year old daughter Dorrit McWHORTER (you can find more about Dorrit in other areas of this website)who was raised by my gg grandparents John and Anna HOGEBOOM in Lyndon, IL.
I have not been able to establish Franks parentage or any of his siblings (if there are any.) I would like to see if anyone has additional leads or information.
Thanks, Les

I don't know the birth or death of Frank McWHORTER; however, he and Minnie HOGEBOOM were married March 12, 1895 in Rock Falls, IL (Frank's residence on the marriage certificate was St. Louis, IL, Minnie's was Denrock.) Minnie was born in Tampico, IL on February 19, 1869. At the time she died in Moline, IL (1/2/1900) Frank was living in Carthage, IL and working as a barber (per the article in the Rock Island Daily about her death.)

Ah - I was wondering where you got the info of his whereabouts. Ok, I'll assume this is first marriage for him and ballpark him about 1865-ish. I couldn't find any F or Frank McWhorter listed on the census index. A dob would help when doing a "soundex" search. Will report back if I find anything........... ---------- Denise Family History Coordinator Tampico Area Historical Society

Denise, Thanks. I am not sure about anything else regarding Frank. At this point it would be pure conjecture unless something else pops up leading to Frank; however, it might be interesting to see the write-up regarding William McWHORTER (I have the tree for H. Tyler McWHORTER. Thanks for all your help. Les
