I am looking for information on Burials for Jacob Sells and his first wife Elizabeth Beeler. Family records say that they both were buried in Fairfield Cemetery. Elizabeth is said to have died 16 Feb. 1841 and Jacob 19 Aug 1876.

Jacob's second wife is Mary Ann Eastlick died 1871 and his third wife Mary Andrews Newell. We are descended from the first wife Elizabeth.

A family member is applying for membership in the DAR and we need outside confirmation of these dates, not just family records that have been passed on generation after generation.

Does anyone have records for this cemetery or can anyone give me a way of making contact with the record keeper for this cemetery?

I have the complete list for the cemetery and do show a Jacob, Elizabeth and a Mary A. buried there, as well as other Sells.
SECTION B (EAST SECTION OF THE CEMETERY - OLD SECTION)
Lot 24 - Lot owner, Jacob Sells
1A SELLS Jacob, Mar 14, 1811 - Aug 19, 1876
1B SELLS Mary A. wife of Jacob, Feb. 3, 1821 - June 3, 1870
1C SELLS James, Mar 12, 1844- Sept. 20,1870, child of J. & M. A. SELLS
1D SELLS Francis C., Apr 10, 1852 - Nov. 13, 1853, child of J. & M. A. SELLS
1E SELLS William, Sept 30, 1864 - Apr 12, 1897

That is all that is listing in Lot 24 owned by Jacob. Lot 23 is owned by John SELLS with the names GAULT, SELLS RAGAN buried in it - no Elizabeth.

This list is done in "cemetery sections" so it is difficult to find names. That's all I spot this a.m. Let me have another cup of coffee and I'll keep looking for Elizabeth and get bact to the post. (I have two lists - one is just a list of names in alphabetical order, no other info, which is where I found Elizabeth's name)

If you contact Bureau County Genealogy Soceity.(which is where this list originated) they may be able to put you in contact with that cemetery's record keeper (if there is one).

I have gone through the list three times and I cannot find Elizabeth listed other than on that individual sheet that just lists the name and no other info. I would check with Bureau Co G S for more info. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Thank you so much for your assistance. I'll also pass this along to other members of the Sells family who are organizing as many records on the family as possible. Jacob Sells ancestor Solomon Sells did patriot service and qualifies one for membership in the DAR or SAR. No one has applied through Jacob before, but the application is being worked on. The DAR application through his brother Benjamin is DAR #790350-A841. If anyone needs information on Sells, contact me at afairhurst@earthlink.net
