I have a James Monroe NEWELL b1851 New Bedford to Simon J. & Esther A. nee HOWLETT NEWELL. I don't have any other information on James Monroe, but I assume he may be the father of your James M. NEWELL, Jr.
Also, I have a Thomas RASMUSSEN b1851 in Denmark and died in Tampico December 15, 1918 as a result of a 52' fall off a windmill. I wonder if Thomas is related to Ras?

Hi Sue,
I will try to get out to Morrison when the weather is nice and the kids are back in school! I am so dissappointed in the "naturalization dept" - both the records and the people working there. Sooo different from the "Vitals" dept. people who couldn't be more helpful.
I know exactly how you feel - I am in the same boat with my Finnish relatives. Until you find that ancestral village, you are stuck!
