The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

married Mary E Cincere
was at Soldiers and Sailors Home in Quincy; Believe related to Nate Cincere of which I am a direct descendant

Hank: Go to State of Illinois Archives and search the Civil War Roster. It is free. If you are an Illinois Resid. You can also get a complete copy of his roster record simply by submitting a request online. I think there is a small fee for folks who live outside of Illinois. Don't forget to check various spellings of his name. As I found with my own GG Grandfather, the names were very often misspelled by the person entering the information at the times of enlistment.

Thanks Tom for adding that info for him. I have already transcibed the information for the State Archives and included it with the information from the S & S's Home @ Quincy. I provided a link to it in my post. I also provided a link to the IL State Archives for him, but neglected to tell him he could order the records on line. That is such a great service and I have used it many times. It always says it is going to take many weeks or months to send the me info, but, so far I have received int within about 10 days or less!
