The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

A little break from digging through the past.
I must announce the birth of my newest Granddaughter.
"ARIAH KADENCE RATH" made her appearence into the world on January 24, 2007 at 6:33 a.m. in Silvis, Illinois. She weighed in at 8lbs-6oz and twenty inches long. And she is absolutely beautiful (OK, so I'm a little prejudice here, but she really is ! ) Mom and Dad (Tim and Tara) are beaming. Ariah is my fifth granddaughter and ninth grandchild (so far).
She has been entered into the Family Bible and into the Family History (now I can get the darn thing printed).
Remember guys, it is these little ones who will be digging into our past in another 50 years.

Thanks for sharing that, Tom. And a big CONGRATS to the new Grandpa - AGAIN! Hopefully, in 50 years, they can just look up the info they want on this website (under "New Management" by then!)(smile)
