I was reviewing the "What's New" items posted for the DOW, DENISON and KOLB lines and noticed Lois M., nee DENISON KOLB's obit had a contradiction. It was noted to be a 1950 article; however, the article said she was 83 when she died. Given her birth year of 1900, that would put the article in 1983, not 1950. Les Lynn, Thanks for all the great DOW lineage detail in these postings!!! Also, here's the wedding notice of Henry J. & Lois nee DENISON KOLB I transcribed from the Tampico Tornado: Tampico Tornado July 8, 1920 MARRIED ON THE FOURTH AT HIGH NOON HERE Miss Lois M. DENISON and Henry J. KOLB Married At High Noon On The Fourth. MARRIED ON THE FOURTH Miss Lois M. DENISON of this place and Henry J. KOLB of Fulton were married on Sunday, July the Fourth at high noon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.W. DENISON. The wedding was a quiet affair only the close relatives being present at the ceremony which was performed by Rev. H.C. BROWN pastor of the M.E. church. The bride was very tastefully attired in a white organdy gown. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served and the couple left via Sterling for a trip to Chicago. On their return they will be at home in Fulton after July 10. The bride comes from one of Tampico's well known and leading families being a daughter of L.W. DENISON who is a cashier of The Tampico State Bank. She has been prominently identified with the activities of the Glee club of the Methodist church and also with other church and Sunday school work and social activities of the town. She is a graduate of BROWN's Business college and fromsome time held responsible positions as bookkeeper at the Farmer's Elevator and at the state school at Glenwood. She is a bright, capable fine young lady of very pleasing ways and has a host of friends. Mr. KOLB, the groom is the son of John KLOB and is a graduate of the Tampico High school, and has also been very active while here among the social affairs of the younger set. He was a former employee of The Tornado and gave up his position in the office when the call came to report for duty being attached to the student corps at DePaul University in Chicago. He is a young man of steady, reliable habits and in every way worthy of the splended young lady whom he has won. At present he holds a responsible position with The Fulton Journal. He was employed in Chicago for a year preceding his accepting a postion at Fulton. Both Mr. and MRs. KLOB have many friends in Tampico who extend their best wishes.

Hi again, I checked the TMC index and see that it is where I gleaned the "1950."
TMC - “K” Obviously, that is incorrect. I checked the Gazette Index on line, but no listing for her in 1984. . . .

Probably need to wait for warmer weather and then take a look at the grave marker in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery to find the exact year.

Hi Les, I don't know where the 1950 came from for Lois Kolb's obit, but thanks for pointing it out. Lois died March 9, 1984 of pneumonia (sp?)at Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. Thanks so much for posting the wedding article, we didn't have that one. We still have more to post, it's just going to take awhile. LynnK
